FAQs About the PWP

Overview of the PWP

The Physician Wellness Program helps physicians avoid a crisis situation.

Sometimes, we come back easily from a setback or even severe stress, but even highly intelligent people can become immobilized.  A professional counselor can help physicians cope and regain their natural resilience. The important thing to remember is that there is always a solution.

The PWP can help physician address any problems or concerns they may be experiencing. They do not need to be in crisis, but the access to psychologists are here if they need them. You may simply want to talk to someone who understands your issues.

How to Access the Services

Services are available by calling the psychologists' office directly and making an appointment.  During regular business hours, call 405-340-4321.  An answering service is available for after-hours calls.

Professional or Personal Concerns
  • Are you anxious about mandates and the impact on your career?
  • Are you concerned about pending litigation?
  • Do you feel caught in a cycle of new mandates?
  • Do you feel sad, irritable, isolated or alone?
  • Do you feel as if your life and practice are in total chaos?
  • Do you think about leaving it all?
  • Is uncertainty about the direction of your career keeping you stuck?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, you are not alone. Most physicians struggle to find a balance between the intense demands of practicing medicine and their personal lives. No physician is unaffected by transitions in their career and personal life.
